Moving to the Most Sought-After Place in Ghana
Located approximately 14km north of the centre of Accra and 4km west of the University of Ghana, West Legon is a rapidly growing residential area with many houses for sale and to rent. This rapid growth is as a direct result of the increase in demand for properties in and around Accra, the occurrence of which is prompted by the constant influx of people to the city. The neighborhood is mainly occupied by the affluent in society as well as a few foreigners.
West Legon’s increase in popularity has seen a large amount of prominent citizens moving into the area. This increase is mainly due to the apparent benefits of living here as compared to some of the other locations in the country. The area is extremely well planned. This is accentuated by the presence of a first class road network. The presence of streetlights and trees along these roads also help to improve the serenity of the location. Furthermore, it contributes to the security situation even at night as there are few dark places for ill-mannered characters to lurk.
There are a few schools located within West Legon. However surrounding areas, such as Achimota, Spintex, and East Legon offer fantastic facilities. These are mainly private schools and provide education up to Junior High School level. The educational institutes that are in close proximity include The West African Secondary School, the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, and Achimota School. The University of Ghana is also located nearby, making it even more attractive to buy a house in West Legon.
